Terrra Fossil started with an adventure: three entrepreneurs seeking escape from their fast paced, New York City routine. A love of Gold brought them to the land of Argentina, and while backpacking near Mendoza at the foot of the Andes Mountains, they discovered their other love, nestled away in a mystical vineyard, owned by a family whose generations had lived there for over a hundred years. ”It used to be an archaeological dig, way back when… they found dinosaur fossils” stated the Vintner in his native tongue. The soil is rich and pure, and growing grapes had been a family tradition. So naturally, a winery soon followed. Slowly, Terra Fossil Wines was nurtured into existence, celebrating Gold, Dinosaurs, and the most elegant tasting wine from the land of mystery and intrigue.

CEO Alycia Kaback and Dev Patel “The Last Airbender”

VIP Talent Connect Alycia Kaback and The Last Airbender Dev Patel

I had such a great time today at CBS Radio and what brought me luck before my big meeting a chance encounter with Dev Patel at NOBU in NYC. Dev was the sweetest and nicest guy. A true gentleman! I can not wait to see “The Last Airbender”!

About Dev Patel

British actor Dev Patel began showing signs of his talent as a performer at a young age, earning praise for his work in school plays when he was still in primary school. Born to Indian parents, Patel grew up in the London suburb of Harrow, where he focused on drama in school. At 16, he was studying for the higher education qualifying exams that make up a rigorous portion of British academic life when he scored a role on the hit English teen drama Skins. By the next year, he was cast in the leading role of Jamal Malik inDanny Boyle‘s landmark film Slumdog Millionaire, playing a kid from the slums of Mumbai who experiences a miraculous series of events despite his desperate surroundings. Patel instantly became a worldwide star, and his performance in the award-winning film was celebrated by audiences and critics alike. Soon, he was parlaying the success into new projects, signing on to play Zuko in The Last Airbender.

VIP Talent Connect – Talent Danielle Guldin Update 2010

June 10th, 2010

A happy ‘hello!’ to you all, and I hope you’re enjoying the Summer weather!  This is the first edition of a quarterly newsletter I am beginning in order to provide an easy way to update everyone I know about the professional goings-on in my life.  I hope you enjoy what you read, as most of you are a very large part of why I am finally able to do this.  In advance, I’d like to thank you for being my friends :)  Here it goes…..

2010 started off with a bang!  Early in January, my good friend, Mark Schoenfeld, advised me to begin auditioning for some theatre projects.  I followed his advice, and within the week, landed the leading role as “Rose,” in the musical Sleeping Beauty for Galli’s Fairytale Theatre in Manhattan.  The show ran for 3 weeks, and it was a fantastic opportunity to get my feet wet in this crazy city’s theatre scene!  Shortly thereafter, I became the host of the New York public access show called Extreme Art Television for The Society of Unique Artists. It’s been amazing to experience New York art at it’s finest and interview some of the most cutting-edge artists in the world!  In early February, my friend Schoolly D, a legendary recording artist and producer, listened to a partial track I had recorded and invited me to his studio to write and record some songs.  Within a few hours we laid down a few really exciting tracks, and we’re continuing to brainstorm some great ideas.  I was also involved in the making of his newest music video for the track, “Just Can’t Help Myself.” It was a completely crazy, funny, zany day, and the video turned out really comedic and light-hearted.  In early March, at the world-wide premiere of the documentary We Live in Public, about/starring the social media pioneer Josh Harris, Josh personally asked me to present the official We Live in Public uniform jacket to the host of the evening’s events, Adrien Grenier.  That was quite an honor!

During the VIP Talent Connect Event on March 13th, I was able to reconnect with the completely fabulous and always stylish, Jess Zaino!  That very day, she cast me in the spec commercial she was producing for Brooklyn Lager. What a great day!  I was also featured in 4 scenes on an episode of Gossip Girl in which Sara Conte cast me.  A few weeks later, my friendJohn Buffalo Mailer asked me to audition for a role in Tell Me the Truth, a short experimental film by the Emmy awardwinning director, Gena Konstantinakos.  I nailed the audition and was cast in the film alongside greats such as John Buffalo Mailer (Wall Street 2), Meital Dohan (Weeds), and Steve Colman (Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry).  WOWOWOW, what an AMAZING opportunity!  Working with people of this level was a dream come true, and Gena’s directorial style was magical!

April was a whirlwind of adventure!  Another Emmy award winning director, Benedict Hadley, had begun filming a reality show about VIP, entitled VIP/NYC, and I was cast in a leading role.  I was instructed to carry a KodakZi8 camera with me at all times, filming myself throughout the course of my adventures.  Some of these adventures included volunteering some time at the 3 Dot Dash International Youth Leadership Summit for global peace, hosted by the great producer, Nile Rogers.  I also documented my double-life as a regular on-air model for the QVC Network, modeling cosmetics for (the fabulous) Laura Geller.  A ridiculously talented guy, Benedict also wrote an OUTSTANDING script called Boost.   He cast me as the principle role of “Keran,” the best friend of the lead character, “Simah.”  After spending loads of time filming theElectronic Press Kit (EPK), we are expected to begin shooting sometime in the late summer.  I couldn’t be more excited (and impatient) to get started!  In late April, I had the experience of a lifetime at the Twitter #140Conf, where I was not only able hang out with Ivanka Trump backstage, but also had the AMAZING opportunity to interview the great and powerful TV personality, Donny Deutsch!  I was so nervous my head was spinning, and I think it turned out pretty darn good!

After attending the awards ceremony at the Babelgum Film Festival in May, my good friend, director Ali Hossaini, consulted with me about a screenplay I have slowly begun to outline, and also the development of a book of poetry I’ve been writing in dribs and drabs for years.  As summer continues, I hope to delve further into these personal projects.   In mid-May, I volunteered 5 days of my life at the HOBY, the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership summit, held in Central PA.  During these 5 days, I facilitated  an amazing group of high school sophomores as they learned about the art and selflessness of community service, made pertinent political decisions as they sat in the PA House of Representatives, and made great personal strides as human beings.  It was an amazing and rewarding week! To top off a crazy month, I also began modeling for (the totally awesome) Kate Somerville Skin Health Line on QVC.

2010 has been quite a year, thus far.  I can’t wait to see what the summer will bring!

I have devised a list of goals to accomplish until I update you again.  Here they are!

1) Create my own weekly show on YouTube

2) Start auditioning as often as humanly possible

3) Finish my reel (I’m still waiting on bits of promising footag

4) VISIT HOLLYWOOD (finally!)

5) Finish my website (looong overdue)

Thank you for reading up on my life as of late.  I hope this update finds you happy, healthy, and enjoying the sunshine!

"Jersey becoming the state of reality TV" VIP Talent Connect quoted in Star Ledger

March 21st, 2010

By Leslie Kwoh/The Star-Ledger

March 21, 2010, 9:00AM

In the opening scene of the new reality show “Jerseylicious,” Olivia Blois-Sharpe races to a job interview after a sleepless night of clubbing, her white Hummer swerving treacherously as she throws her head forward and douses it with hairspray.

“I can’t figure it out — I don’t know why I’m so late all the time,” says the Montville makeup artist, 22, still clad in a sequined leopard-print outfit from the night before. “Thank God I have a personal closet on wheels.”

Gayle Giacomo, owner of Gatsby Salon in Green Brook, stars in a new reality TV show called “Jerseylicious.”

Gayle Giacomo, owner of Gatsby Salon in Green Brook, stars in a new reality TV show called “Jerseylicious.”

“Experts warn the trend is self-perpetuating.”

“At his New York talent networking company, VIP Talent Connect, CEO Michael James said he’s noticed a surge in New Jersey reality star hopefuls at his events who appear to be imitating what they see on TV. The men arrive with open shirts, shaved chests and gelled hair. The women wear skintight outfits, stilettos, long nails and loud jewelry.”

“You’re starting to see reality mimic ‘reality,’ ” he said. “What people don’t realize is most of these kids will have a hard time getting a job in the industry after. Just as fast as those fans put you up on that pedestal, they’ll take you off of it.”

Already, there are signs that New Jersey’s 15 minutes of fame are almost up, he said. He pointed to a recent pitch for a reality show called “Brighton Beach,” about a group of young, vodka-chugging Russians in Brooklyn.

“We’ll move on to the next big thing,” he said.”

VIP Talent Connect Model / Actor Matt Bodenheimer in March edition of Maxim!

VIP Talent Connect Maxim Magazine Shoot

“Bodie” real name Matt Bodenheimer came to our office on May 18, 2009. Bodie is from Virginia. He attended his first VIP Talent Connect event July 2009 where he met Ryan Colby. This is what Bodie wrote in his paragraph on why he wants to get in the industry one year ago:

“Though my own personal journey, I’ve learned that entertainment industry is anything but predictable. There is no given or specific path on how to make or break your career. Although I have learned many things from my experiences, I feel that I have only gotten my feet wet in terms of my goals and capabilities for the future. This year, I want to get my food in the door and take my acting career to the next level. I see myself no constricting my acting opportunities solely on the DC area. I hope to be working on more professional projects and be able to get my name out. I want to find more work, go on more auditions, work in DC, New York, and Philadelphia because I know the harder I work, it is only a matter of time before I can get my career rolling. In one year, I see myself surrounded by people who believe in my abilities and are will to help me find the opportunities and I in return am willing to put the effort to try my hardest to put myself out there and not miss out on opportunities. If there is one think I have learned, it is that opportunities don’t come to you, you have to go out and find them.” Congratulations “Matt” we always knew with the right connections you had what it takes to be a star! VIP Talent Connect The Buried Life MTV

Regional Director Nancy Marx and VIP | NYC Executive Producer Robert Galinsky met and were special guests on CBS online radio Chat About IT! The trio including Ben Nemtin from MTV’s “The Buried Life” and the three industry experts had a lively discussion on working in the business and had the phone lines flooded with callers from around the world. VIP Talent Connect was proud to be a a part of this event sponsored in part by The New Kodak Zi8 and VIP | NYC TV. About Ben Nemtin, Ben grew up playing sports and chose rugby as his favorite. He was selected as a member of the Canadian National Rugby Team fresh out of high school. Receiving an academic and athletic scholarship into University, he went from Sciences to Business because he felt more at home throwing fundraiser gigs for ‘The Buried Life’ than cooking cadavers in the lab. The son of an entertainer, Ben had his shining moment in the business when, playing the role of “Guy”, he spoke his one-line in the movie “White Chicks” (2004)–something his friends will never let him live down. He has recently taken up long boarding, traveling, neon colors and cannon balls. He is a budding entrepreneur, hustling and networking on the road–a regular Ari Gold, Jr., making moves for the team. Another great day of relationship building from VIP Talent Connect and The New Kodak Zi8.
