Alycia Kaback with Legendary Steve O

This past week Alycia Kaback met up with the infamous daredevil Steve-O at Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York City.  Much comedy ensued to be sure, but most importantly Miss Kaback made a very exciting connection. Amidst his pranks, Steve-O actually got down to business and seriously discussed his desires to attend VIP events and begin mentoring those with the ambition to enter the entertainment industry.  Steve-O’s accomplishments include the instant television hit Jackass and the four movies it spawned, as well as the show Wildboyz.  Later Steve-O even created a line of shoes called Sneaux Shoes and starred in his own reality TV show, Dr. Steve-O.  Most recent among his accomplishments is the release of Jackass 3-D, a must-see, which broke box office records. Steve-O is an excellent person to learn from as he was able to make it to the top of the comedy world merely acting like a “jackass.”  For more information click here.

Kaback Casting Alycia Kaback with Cast of Three’s Company!

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Alycia Kaback Richard Kline

Three’s Company is an American sitcom that aired from March 15, 1977 to September 18, 1984 on ABC. It is a remake of the British sitcom Man About the House. The story revolves around three roommates, Janet Wood, Christmas Snow AKA Chrissy Snow (later cousin Cindy Snow, thenTerri Alden), and Jack Tripper who share Apartment 201 in a Santa Monica, California[2] apartment building owned by Mr. andMrs. Roper (later owned by Bart Furley but managed by his brother, Ralph Furley). The show, a comedy of errors, chronicles the escapades and hijinks of the trio’s constant misunderstandings, social lives, and struggle to keep up with rent.

After crashing Eleanor’s wedding reception and finding himself passed out in the bathtub, cooking school student Jack Tripper happens across Janet Wood, a florist, and Chrissy Snow, a secretary, in need of a new roommate after Eleanor moves out. Having only been able to afford living at the YMCA, Jack quickly accepts the offer to move in.

However, due to landlord Stanley Roper’s intolerance for co-ed living situations, even in a multi-bedroom apartment, Jack is only allowed to move in after Janet tells Mr. Roper that Jack is gay. Although Helen Roper figures out Jack’s true sexuality in the second episode, she does not tell her husband. Frequently siding with the three roommates instead of her husband, Mrs. Roper’s bond with the roommates grows until the eventual spinoff The Ropers.

Jack continues the charade when new landlord Ralph Furley takes over the apartment complex because Mr. Furley insists that his hard-nosed brother Bart (the building’s new owner) would also never tolerate such living situations.

The show was set minutes from the beach in Santa Monica, California, and was filmed using three main sets: the trio’s apartment, their landlord’s apartment and the neighborhood pub, The Regal Beagle. In later seasons more sets were used, frequently depicting Larry’s apartment, Angelino’s restaurant, Jack’s Bistro, the hospital where Terri worked, and Janet’s flower shop.

Humor in the show was based on farce, often relying on innuendo, misunderstanding, as well as physical comedy to punctuate the hare-brained schemes the characters would invariably conjure up to get themselves out of situations. Running jokes were frequently based on Jack’s (supposed) sexuality, Mr. Roper’s lack of sexual prowess, and Chrissy’s blonde moments. Conflict in the show came from the dysfunctional marriage of the Ropers, Jack’s lust for Chrissy versus Janet’s intolerance for a roommate romance, and later on, Larry and Jack’s friendship and Larry’s abuse of it.

The theme song was composed by Joe Raposo (known for his composing for the children’s television show Sesame Street), and sung by Ray Charles (unrelated to the late rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles) and Julia Rinker. For more information click here.

Alycia Kaback (VIP Talent Connect) with Producer Michael Butler (Hair)

Alycia Kaback and Michael Butler

Michael Butler (born November 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American theatrical producer best known for bringing the rock musical Hair from the Public Theater to Broadway in 1968. During his time as Hair producer he was dubbed by the press as “the hippie millionaire”.[1] Other Broadway production credits include the play Lenny in 1971 and the musical Reggae in 1980. In 1967, Butler was preparing to run for the US Senate when he began to discuss the Vietnam War with a young student who worked as a gardener at his home. As a result of these discussions, Butler says, “I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the popular ‘hawk’ stand I had been taught as an axiom.” Later that year in New York City on business related to Otto Kerner, Jr.’s Commission about Civil Disorders, he saw an ad in the New York Times for Hair at the Public Theater that featured a photo of five Indian chiefs. Thinking the show was about Indians he bought a ticket. Instead he saw what he described as “the strongest anti-war statement ever written” and decided to obtain rights to the show.[6] Hair opened on Broadway in April 1968 and became a huge success, running for 1,750 performances and spawning numerous other productions. By the time the Broadway production closed in 1972, Butler had overseen nine national productions and nineteen international productions.

Available by invitation only, VIP Talent Connect membership is the world’s most exclusive opportunity to launch a career in the entertainment industry and confers a level of service that can be extended only to selected talent and individuals worldwide. For more information click here.
